The Virginia Council of Teacher of Mathematics (VCTM) has announced that Dr. Elaine Magee, assistant professor of mathematics at SU, has been selected to receive the 2010 VCTM William C. Lowry Mathematics Educator of the Year Award for for the university     

Following the Jan. 12 earthquake in Haiti, Cindy & Jerry Saint-Fort wanted to go home to their parents in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince, but they knew they needed to stay at Shenandoah to work on their education.
    

To promote awareness of civic responsibility and Constitution Day, the Institute for Government and Public Service sponsored a Constitution Day Essay Contest. In all, 17 students submitted essays.
    

Former Virginia Senator John Warner among this year’s honorees - also honored are former Pennsylvania State Senator Terry Punt, Stephens City, Va. Mayor Ray Ewing and retired City of Winchester Administrator Sharon Gromling.
    

Environmental studies major Marie Dahl and her advisor Dr. Woodward Bousquet attended the Virginia Academy of Science’s annual meeting where Dahl received an award for her research paper on water quality    

Six students in Shenandoah University's Environmental Education (ES 340) course taught a unit on aquatic ecology to seventh-grade life science classes at Daniel Morgan Middle School April 6, 7 and 8.

    

Shenandoah University's four-person ethics team went to the 10th annual Wachovia Ethics Bowl at Washington & Lee University and came home a very close second-place.
